I bought a Slingbox Pro on August 24th, 2007, at Best Buy. I have used it with my PDA (long since gone), which amazed everyone I showed it to, as well as on the road in hotel rooms and even from different parts of the house. Neat idea, and way ahead of Hava at the time. Still no support for my Dish Network VIP 612 DVR (HD) yet, but good enough.
I did a firmware update the other day, long after the 1 year warranty was up. It bricked my box, along with hundreds or even thousands of others.
My initial email:
I’d like to share a tip with those of you who think that their only choice for the many sites they log into is to have the same password on all of them.
I’m someone who has managed thousands of email accounts for users, and I personally have to have all my hundreds of passwords on spreadsheets there are so many-not just for email accounts, but for web sites, servers, routers, etc.
My tip is simple. To remember your password, make the passwords such that they contain 2 parts:
1. The name of the site.
2. A word that is used on all sites.

I answered a query for article content regarding how to get through your day when you don’t feel like it. Below was my submission.
This content applies to Sales Engineering as well as all my other interests in this blog.
It is harder and harder to impress people-especially those concerned with, or responsible for, your advancement and promotion. A fantastic way to do this is to like, or even love, the unlovable. You can do this in two stages:
1. You don’t believe it, but you’re selling it, and
2. You believe it, and live it.

Why aren’t we experts in us?

My advice is very simple, and comes from a sales or marketing approach to getting the next gig: Sell Yourself!
The problem is that rarely are the people looking for work in the sales and/or marketing verticals themselves; And if they are, they are inexperienced at selling a person, their capabilities/abilities, etc. In fact, even if they are in the business of selling talent, they are completely unable to sell themselves. The carpenter’s house leaks, the shoemaker’s kids have no shoes, the auto mechanic’s car is pushed to work, etc.

After going through several circular polarizers in the under $50 bracket for my 77mm threads (70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM), I took the plunge. Tiffen, Hoya, and all the other low-end suppliers, you know who you are. I wanted the best glass available to be in front of my 50mm f/1.2 and 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM glass. To step up from 72mm to 77mm, I used the exceptional B+W Step Up Adapter. Even though I hate Adorama, I figured even they couldn’t mess up something made by B+W!
I got the Heliopan 707741 77mm Circular Polarizer, and OMFG, it is the shizzle (do we still say that?). This is a serious piece of optics (at $150), and I even insured it with all my other camera gear.
The first thing you notice is how strong it is. It is around +2.5, and I like that. I have fast glass so I can put this kind of filter on and not have it impact my shooting. Besides, you don’t use a CP in the dark! So here are a few images from my product blog:
